I realised last week that when I imagine my next home, I don’t picture the sitting room or the bedrooms – I picture the kitchen table with family gathered around for home cooked meals, a candle burning while I cook supper, a cup of tea beside my laptop while I work or creating my next limited edition pieces for Willow & Hen.
It’s where conversations happen, decisions are made, homework is done and dinner parties linger long into the night. It’s where you sit for an early morning coffee and reflect on the day ahead. My kitchen table is the heart of my home it carries the scars of family life, scratches from many homes over the years and even has glitter caught in the joints.
Sometimes the kitchen table becomes the place where life changing decisions are made.
Recently, I’ve been journaling about the next chapter of my life, sat here with a candle lit, flowers nearby and handmade tealight holders on the table. Thinking about what I want the next five years to look like – for my home and for Willow & Hen.
